One of the great things about October is that it means Halloween is almost here! The city offers a number of spooky attractions as well as family friendly events. This halloween season, enjoy festive events that are just what you’re looking for. Read on to find out more of what Billings has to offer during the Halloween season. Downtown Billings Trick or TreatHosted by the Downtown Billings Alliance, this event is a safe Halloween alternative for children. The community event is FREE to the public and participating businesses in the downtown area will offer candy and healthy treats as well unique Halloween themed activities. Head to the Downtown Billings Alliance office located at 2815 2nd Ave N. and you can receive a route of the trick or treat stations as well as a souvenir trick or treat bag for the kids! This year, the event will be from 12-5pm. Slaughter’s HouseYou’ve been invited to the home of Morty and Morterra Slaughters, a truly rare occasion, and they would love to have you for dinner. Venture through their home that is usually kept close to outsiders, but be careful, you might not make it out! Enjoy this scary haunt that features a number of animatronics and various scenes. The Slaughter’s House will be open on select dates in October. Call 406-425-2362 for more information. Proceeds for this event will go to the Yellowstone county as well as the Billings youth bowling association. The Moss Mansion The Moss Mansion is a historic site that showcases what life would have been like at the turn of the century. Every year during the Halloween season, the Moss Mansion turns the space into a fantastically haunted maze featuring creepy creatures, mind-bending optical illusions, and other unnatural beings that haunt the mansion. H.H. Holmes is also said to still lurk the mansion, the man who is believed to be the Jack the Ripper. You’ll run into his countless victims telling their story. Will you have enough time to get out of the maze without him finding you? The Haunted Moss Mansion experience will take place October 20th, 21st, 27th, 28th, and the 31st.
