Drink at Ales for Trails this October in Billings!

This September, Billings, Montana will be holding the annual “Ales for Trails” on Friday, September 23 from 5 pm to 10 pm at Dehler Park downtown. Event attendees will be able to taste beer from many of Montana’s local breweries, listen to live music from Down Time and enjoy great food and wine from vendors.New on top this year is Billings’ Brew-Trailhead Ales, crafted by Yellowstone County’s breweries. They have collaborated to create refreshing yet complex ale to support the construction of bike trails. Even attendees will have the opportunity to sample six different versions of Trailhead Ale.More than 40 microbrews will be available on tap, including last year’s award winners Belgium White, Bent Nail IPA, and Farmhouse Ale. All proceeds of the event will benefit local trails through BikeNet. In 2009, around $30,000 was raised in one year alone.“Ales for Trails” is put on annually by BikeNet, a nonprofit, grass-roots organization that advocates trail education and development for Yellowstone County. Their goal is to increase awareness of trail safety, alternate transportation, and healthy lifestyle. Funds are raised through sponsorships and ticket sales.  Every $1 BikeNet invests results in around $7.50 to build trails.
