Competitors in the land of the shining mountains are getting ready to show off their skills and head to the starting line for Montana’s Annual Big Sky State Games. Standing as the most massive State Games per capita in the nation, this multi-sport event attracts thousands of athletes every year who participate in dozens of different sports, ranging from archery to Taekwondo. With the coveted first place medal in their minds, there is nothing that compares to the intensity, passion, and strength seen within each athlete during this heart-racing event. The Big Sky State Games is modeled after the Olympics and is held solely for residents of Montana, except for qualified participants in bordering states that do not have an official State Games. With the help of over 2,500 volunteers, this event will run over three days in some parks, gymnasiums, and trails found throughout the greater Montana region, including the cities of Billings and Bozeman. Spotlighting some of Montana’s greatest athletes, nearby residents are encouraged to join in on the fun as spectators celebrate the commitment and camaraderie found within a majority of these local athletes. In support of the greater well being of America’s growing children, the Big Sky State Games also organizes a 3-month program called Big Sky Fit Kids to teach kids about the importance of being physically active. With fun games and easy to read nutritional facts, this series gives young ones the tools needed to grow into healthy adults, who can eventually participate in the State Games themselves. So whether you are a competitor or a fan, it’s time to plan your weekend out for what is sure to be a memorable event.Ready, set...go!Event DetailsJuly 15 – July 17, 2011Various Locations:Check Schedule at http://www.bigskygames.org/ezpages/index/47For more information, contact:
